So a quick run down of the current day to day (my week begins on Wednesday so that's where I'll start):
Wednesday, Thurdsay & Friday
I wake up at 8am and get all the kids up and ready, then Hailey and Lily off to school. I attempt to get things done around the house but typically end up just cleaning up any new messes the kids tend to make. Let the dogs out, breakfast, change diapers, play with the kiddos. Lily has to be picked up around 11am. Then I go up to get Hailey from the bus around 12. Then it's time for lunch, diaper changes, laundry, shower and getting ready for work.
I load all 4 kids into the car and we leave for Burien around 2:30pm. (45min car ride) Typically there is a jumbled mess of yelling, crying, singing and dancing on the car ride to work. Fun but crazy. I'll try to post a video of a typical car ride later.
3:15pm I usually get to work. I meet hubby there and we have a quick "How was your day" usually. Unless he's late (which happens quite a bit), in which case I grab my purse and run inside. Work consists of me motivating patients to go where they are scheduled to be. Difficult work sometimes when you're working with drug addicted teenagers trying to get clean. But a lot of the time is spent talking to them, supporting them when they're upset, playing games, going to the park, etc etc. There are days I get cussed out, and made fun of... but the good days FAR outweigh the bad. I get off work at midnight and usually am home by 1am. Then I spend a little time with Chris and we go to bed.
Saturday
Malachi, Hailey and Lily all have "The Little Gym" on Saturday mornings. Malachi at 10:30, the girls at 12. Then Chris and I attempt to fit in grocery shopping and other misc tasks that have been adding up throughout the week. There is a lot to get caught up on with 4 kids. Then I leave for work at 2:30p.
Sunday
Church! Lately I have been so tiered by Sunday that I fight against getting up early on one of the only two days I can sleep past 8am. Chris is such an amazing husband for continuing to motivate me despite my grumpy Sunday morning beginnings. God love him! Then I go to work again at... you guessed it.. 2:30.
Monday & Tuesday
My "days off"!! In case nobody has told you yet, or you don't have kids... mothers don't usually get "days off". Although I am a very lucky lady with a wonderful husband who makes dinner and does dishes. So Monday and Tuesdays are by far my favorite days of the week. Same beginning as Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but instead of leaving for work at 2:30, I wait for Chris to get home at 5. On Mondays when he gets home we take the kids to an indoor play area and let them run and play! Tuesday nights are our "get everything done" time. Costco trips are usually done on Tuesday night.
AH! Now that I have filled you in on the basics, I'm excited to start on the small moments in the midst of the madness that make everything worth it! But right now it's back to the grind. I hear a mountain of laundry, and a two year old calling my name..
